In a word or two- "Enlightening"
Very good, because the entire movie centers around lesbian life, past, past and present and the struggles for everyday lesbian couples throughout modern day times. It has an all star cast, from the amazing, Vanessa Redgrave to Michelle Williams to Ellen Degeneres.
What makes this a lesbian must have is that it is all about lesbians...
no men trying to interfere, no confused women discovering their
sexual identity and the main theme of the movie is lesbians!

In a word or two- "Coming of age story with a twist "
This is a very good coming of age story featuring "L word"s,
Laurel Holloman and "Soul Food"s sexy Nicole Ari Paker. It is a different twist
because it is also bi-racial. Drugs and angst aren't a big issue in the film which
is unusual for a coming of age story. Two very different girls, one an over achiever with straight A's who discovers an unusual friendship with the
typical high school dyke. Even though they are both so different they find something comforting in each other and fall in love.
The movie is good because the characters are so likeable and
endearing. You find yourself rooting for the two. Beware however,
the movie is at times "campy".

In a word or two- "Very entertaining"
This is one of LBO's favorites because it is so entertaining. It is "campy",
it is silly at times, but it is supposed to be. This is a movie you can watch over and over and enjoy it every time.
The movie centers around a small Texas town, Azela Springs, where debutante balls and golf are the main events, that is until Spence (a very lovable character) jokingly spreads a rumor that he is ay because there is something in the water.
Fear and ignorance begin to run amok and the bottled water sales sky rocket!
The movie makes fun of homophobia, which is always enjoyable.
The two main actresses have a very nice chemistry and you will love
some of the lines in this movie!
