In a word or two- "Not meant to be a serious film, but entertaining"
This is another film, you should know ahead of time what you are getting into.
The film is based on a comic and isn't to be viewed as a serious film with any type of agenda other than entertaining. Do not watch the film expecting too much and you might walk away loving it. It's fun and that's it, that's all you get.
In a nutshell it's about crime fighting cheerleaders who get into trouble
when the leader of the group Amy, falls hard for the villain Lucy.
Many people hate this film, but they aren't quite getting that its based on
a comic strip. If you like airy, light hearted humor this is up your alley.
It's cute and the two main characters are HOT together.

In a word or two- "A timeless lesbian film Masterpiece"
If we were told we had to pick one lesbian movie as the very best
it would be Desert Hearts.
This is a lesbian masterpiece and what's more, it was produced and released in 1986, not exactly a time when lesbian or any gay movies were well accepted.
The storyline is set in 1950's Reno Nevada, around a conservative professor,
Vivian (Helen Shaver)
who visits Reno to get a "Quickie divorce". Instead of visiting a local motel she decides to make a vacation of it by staying at a struggling dude ranch, where she meets the vibrant lesbian Cay (Patricia
Charbonneau) who pursue's her relentlessly. The film is about non traditional family, friendships and true love. The two actresses do such a great job on the film as they portray an older woman falling in love with a younger woman and coming to terms with what society expects of her versus happiness within herself.
The only draw back to Desert Hearts,
is that it would have been great to have a sequel!
