In a word or two - "Bad"
The storyline was good... seemed like a fun idea. The film set in modern day Los Angeles with a typical lesbian dating scenario. The movie comes across as a very low budget film and the acting is so bad. The chemistry isn't believable with any of the actresses and the love scenes leave a lot to be desired.
Very disappointing.

In a word or two: "Sweet, loveable and entertaining"
The storyline in this film is good. The film is about a young lesbian Maggie, whose off on her own, when her mother Lilia, decides to come live with her. Only her mother doesn't know she is a lesbian. Timing is everything and this couldn't be at a worse time as Maggie has just met the very sexy artist Kim who isn't quite so in the closet. The acting is good and the chemistry between the women is very believable as well. This is a quirky comedy that has a seriousness to it.

In a word or two: "Gangster lesbian flick, not a love story"
The storyline in this film is intriguing and fast pace. This is a GOOD lesbian film, but this lesbian cult classic may be over rated. While the women are sexy, they have chemistry and the love scene is very nice, this is not a love story. The two characters Violet and Corkie are thrown together first by sex, then by a scheme to rob Violets gangster boyfriend. They have chemistry but it's not about
love, its more about sex and money and the movie very well may be geared more toward men.

In a word or two- "Intense. Reality"
The reason we recommend renting this wonder film is because it is hard
to watch twice. This IS an excellent film and the acting on Hillary Swanks
part is nothing short of superb as Brandon Teena, a trans gendered teen in
conservative Nebraska. The movie is like watching a train wreck. It is
heart wrenching and maddening all at once. It really gets you in the gut.
Something about this film makes it so special, as it tells so many stories
while only telling one. The root of the story is being different,
homophobia and hatred.
Like Brokeback Mountain, these stories of tragedy need to be told
to better educate the world against hatred and judgment.

In a word or two- "Very fun ride"
There are some movies you should be told in advance what you are going to get. But, I'm a Cheerleader is one of them. This is a John Waters film... get the picture? This is a quirky comedy with some real good story telling
thrown in. This is a very lovable film. Natasha Lyonne carries the movie as Megan the Cheerleader who doesn't realize she is..., "Everyone feels like this" GAY and is sent by her christian family to "get straight". There are some very wonderful supporting characters in this wonderful fun film. Douglas Spain as Andre is one of the most entertaining characters on any lesbian film ever. The film is almost blown by Clea DuVall's portrayal of Graham, Megan's love interest. Clea's acting is somewhat flat and serious for all other purposes, is a wild and fun film.

In a word or two- "Under rated, excellent acting, character study"
This is another movie you should be told in advance what you are going to get.
This is not a light, airy or even fun film. It is a complex character study that deals with trans gender, friendship and mental illness. This film should have received more praise and publicity then it did, because not only is the writing outstanding, but surprisingly the two unknown actresses, Silas Howard and
Harriet Dodge are amazing in the film.
It's not a lipstick lesbian film. It centers more on a friendship between
two butch outcasts who find stability with one another. It's good.
